Security was strengthened through instructions and training
At Hansel, security matters are taken care of by the security team. Its tasks include matters related to information security, data protection and preparedness. The team also takes care of personnel and premises security and security-related communications. The security team meets regularly in accordance with the annual security plan.
In 2025, the security team’s work focused on the development of administrative information security. The group carried out a project to develop a management model for information security. The project resulted in an information security management model that includes information security and data protection policies, information security principles and more detailed security instructions.
Audits and reporting verify success
Security was developed and maintained in accordance with the annual security plan. Key measures included strengthening the personnel’s information security awareness through training and the assessment of overall information security risks as well as information security testing and audits of information systems. Contractual partners’ fulfilment of security requirements was also reviewed. In addition, regular management information security reporting was started, providing management with an up-to-date view of the state of information security.
During the past year, Hansel’s contingency plan, continuity plans and system-specific recovery plans were updated. The functionality of the plans was tested by participating in the Taisto cyber and digital security exercise organised by the Finnish Digital and Population Data Agency.
The templates for the security requirements of procurement have been updated earlier under the leadership of the security team. The security team offered support for their use in 2025.
